Sabres aren't going to be interested in doing you any favours with Campbells contract, you're likely giving up a first and a low level prospect with nothing coming back in return.

Im not saying its not a tandem league, or that levi doesnt need a backup. Merely pointing out that it wouldnt be a chance for him to regain his confidence. Hed be second fiddle to a rookie and on a team under a ton of pressure to make the playoffs next year. Its not like moving to re building team where he'll get tons of chances even if he goes through a rough patch. if his play slips up, theyll run him out of buffalo too.

soup has been to hell and back. sabres upcoming storyline is a cupcake walk compared to leafs and oilers with jack. as well a rookie in Levi shouldn't have that big of a workload to fulfill that teams check list for next season why not give him a veteran whose able to show him the dos and dont in the league.

They absolutely should get him a veteran to show him the do's and donts. But thats definitely not a wildly overpaid backup sub 900 sv% goaltender.

Campbell needs to go somewhere where he'll be given opportunities in-spite of screwing up, like a rebuilding team. Not the Sabres, who by the way, will probably need that cap space that Campbell is taking up.

Four years of $5,000,000 AVV for a back GK is going to cost a lot more than a first.
At least remove Buffalo's second and add the Oiler's 2023 2nd and the Sabres may consider the deal.
With Levi, Luukkonen, Comrie (even Subban has elevated his game) the Sabres are flush with GK.
