Quoting: Leafsleaks123
From a value perspective this isn’t terrible. Sprong and Wennberg would be interesting fits but none of these guys are big impact players which the leafs would want if giving up one of the core four.
I understand that perspective but I don't see many options where a contending team gives up current assets for Nylander, the only possibility would be the jets (even though they should desperately rebuild) but any team in contention for him gives up solid current pieces and futures. Lets look at the main contenders for Nylander, Winnipeg (Should rebuild but sadly due to fan interest they need to stay contending)(Hellebuyck or Schiefele are candidates) , Los Angles ( only possibility would be Kempe), Avalanche (Girard or Toews m a y b e but I don't see much outside of that), Wild ( Spurgeon,Brodin or Hartman), Golden Knights (Karlsson or Martinez), Flames (Hanifin, Toffoli, Tanev, Lindholm are all great pieces but it keeps the Leafs in the same position), Sabers (Oloffson???), Hurricanes ( Pesce or Tuevo, Same thing with the flames players, great fit but leaves them in the same position), Islanders (Dobson?), Pens (Guenztel, Rust, Pettersen?), Capitals (No one here outside of Kuzy).
Out of these options is just depends on what the leafs are interested in
