Jets are in a difficult position when it comes to PLD. They're not getting anything neaar market value from Montreal. So, anything more than whats been suggested here won't happen. There's always a chance another team will trade for him, but they'll need reassurances that he'll sign a long term deal. If they can't get that from Brisson, then they also won't pay market value.

Brisson has informed the team that PLD won't sign a contract with the Jets. So their options are to trade him, or have him sit out the year until he's a UFA and lose him for nothing.

As i said if a team offers him up to $6,435,186 which is still more than his qualifying offer the compensation will be a 1st and a 3rd, and the rule is when you match you can't trade the player for a year which means he becomes a ufa at the end of the season while making more than his QO, and i don't think any contender will offer sheet him before talking to the agent... because he'll still do only 1 year and walk to free agency

He has no incentive to sign a 1 year lowball OS, it doesn't nothing for him but keep his salary low for another year, while risking injury and his agent would advise him not to sign it. Or, PLD would fire him if he advised him to sign it. Especially when he will get more going to arbitration and still get a 1 year contract.
