I think if the Islanders adjusted their cap, they'd look at a player of decent value, move him off, and get positive value out of it.

Because they only have 5.3m available to resign some player. There maybe one or two forward, atleast two defensemen and one backup goaltender to get that not alot of cap space.

It will most likely take a 2nd to move Bailey. He will go to a team that plays him top-6 and needs veteran presence and if he is back to a 45ish point pace retain 50% and flip him at the deadline for maybe a 3rd.

Chicago could still use him play him with maybe Bedard to help boost is stats, retain 50% salary and trade him to an competitive team in deadline for another pick like third or second round pick again which would make them maybe two seconds pick more to add more young players.
