Really... a top 6 guy, a pretty good prospect, and a couple of second-rounders is nowhere in the ball park?

It looks a lot like my trade... A top-six guy, a prospect, and some draft picks that's more than fair for a guy who's only hit thirty goals once. What more exactly do you want for Lindholm?

Ok man, ask yourself this. Aho is going into the final year of his contract too. Would you trade Aho for that offer?

Aho is a lot better than Lindholm is... Aho is a top 15-20 center... Lindholm is a tier or two below Aho
Aho has been a 30-38 goal scorer every year for the past five years (except the covid year) and Lindholm has only cracked 30 once

Lol what are you on about. Aho is probably like the 11th or 12th best center in the league and Lindholm is like the 14th or 15th best center in the league. Unlike Horvat who is an offense only center, Lindholm is a Selke Caliber 1st line center on half the teams in the league.

No. You’re trying to sell quantity to a team that already has a top 5 prospect pool. Necas and morrow need to be in the deal or you’re wasting Arizona's time. Keller’s cap hit is a steal and he has 5 years left, he’s not coming cheap.

Aho is also a very good defensive center that's why he's a critical member of our PK. Lindholm doesn't put up the offensive production in the same tier as Aho with the exception of last season.

Lindholm has cracked 40, something which aho has never done. Lindholm has alot been in top 10 selke voting twice, once as runner up. Aho has never been.

I do think Aho is the better producer and probably ranks higher, but I don't think it's by multiple tiers as you would say. In a center ranking list they're within 5 spots of each other. Very much in the same conversation.

Aho only had 3 more points than Lindholm this year... Lindholm also had clear downgrades as his linemates this season compared to last, whereas Aho did not

Here, why don't you look at this side by side comparison over the last 3 years

He cracked 40 once and that's his only 30+ goal. Lindholm plays in a big market, unlike Aho which is why he get's more attention for the Selke. It's the same reason the Hurricanes players don't win get the votes for awards like Selke and Norris even though they have candidates who should be getting votes. I agree that Lindholm is a very good center... I just think that a first+good prospect+ top-six forward is good starting place for trade discussions for a team that is looking to retool

There lies the problem. You are assuming Calgary is looking to retool a second year in a row instead of move on from their oppressive coach and assume guys like Huberdeau should produce more when playing away from Lucic.

Calgary was just as dominant at 5v5 as Carolina was this year yet lead the league in 1 goal losses as well as posts hit. It's an understatement to call them unlucky.

I mean from what I've heard it's looking like they want to retool. What makes Calgary different than the Hurricanes is that the Hurricanes have a better PK and Coach than the Flames

um 1.8% better is a pretty small gap. As for coach, idk. Sutter is a fantastic coach but he's a ruthless person, he didn't win the Jack Adam's by accident. He's like Gordon Ramsay behind the bench. The team when through far too much turmoil last summer to have that kind of person running the show after.

Not sure where you heard they want to retool. What I've heard is they want more youth in the lineup, that implies that they will not be bringing back veteran depth players like Ritchie, Lewis, and Lucic but instead look to play guys like Coronato, Pelletier, Ruzicka, Duehr, and maybe Zary

Overpaying is how you get a star on a steal of a contract for 5 years, no one just hands those players out. There’s no standing trade request, Arizona has no reason to move him as he’s young and fits our timeline. If Carolina wants him it’s going to hurt, or we happily keep him.

Yeah but that 2% can make a huge difference. Sutter might be a good coach but he's not a good fit with the way the roster is constructed. Yah that 2% is probably the difference between you guys getting into the playoffs and not

If your asking price is just Necas+Morrow fine but if it's Necas+Morrow+more then we have a problem
