Assumes no Bergeron and Krejci. I factored in the idea that Bruins fans wanted Bertuzzi as part of the core moving forward. Marchand becomes expendable without Bergeron.

The idea is that the Devils wanted to capitalize on their core and would like the veteran leadership and production of Marchand and a number young #1 goalie in Swayman. I'm don't think I've got the value down yet so I'm just putting this out to see if someone can make the right adjustments. I could see the Bruins wanting to get tougher and a player like Bastian would fit that mold. The future picks help replenish draft capital and would be less valuable to a Jersey team that has a solid 1-2 center core and young players. In this scenario the Bruins keep Ullmark into the future and look to pair him with Bussi the next few years. Blackwood becomes a 1-year stop gap or they could look to off-load his RFA rights to another team.

Putting in a contract like Bertuzzi really does hamper the depth and the Bruins don't have the money or farm system to do much.
