This is a very short-term fix, but I kinda like it, I was begging for the avs to go after Barbashev at the deadline, so I was happy to see him there, I still would rather get rid of a couple of guys to give Bo a more long term extension though.

Team gets eliminated in the 1st round, and you want to go with the same roster + 45 point winger Barbashev? Team isn't good enough.

JTC at that price and term = instant regret. You also have a roster of 20 with no money left so this does not work on several levels.

It's not that he let them down, he just regressed to his mean; it isn't his fault people expected so much from him. He had a career year but was playing way more minutes than he ever had so it was bound to happen. He was playing over his head but people were acting like he had, somehow at the age of 27 after 7 years in the league, "broken out" and become a top six player. He definitely isn't that and anyone who pays him anything more than a modest raise and 3-4 years is going to wish they hadn't.
