Seider for first overall?

An untouchable asset for another untouchable asset is a pointless move.

With that being said, we know Seider is going to be a perennial all star and soon to be Norris candidate annually. I personally would not trade Seider for anything and that includes the 1st overall pick and the ability to select the diminutive potential franchise prospect.

Garland is worth a fifth. You could flip Kubalik for a second. So yes canucks accept

No they don’t…. The 11th overall is off the table unless a top 6 U25 center or top 4 U25 defenseman is coming the other way…. Quality over quantity. Canucks need high end prospects, not more mid ones

Myers and Garland are cap dump (maybe not Garland but he has minimal value). Kubalik is worth a second at least. Three second > 11 overall + cap dumps

Kubalik and Garland are similar value players.

You can objectively look a pick values online. The 11th pick is worth 338 points. The 42nd and 43rd picks are worth 85 and 81 respectively. Pick any random other 2nd and the value is still not even close to the 11th. And that's assuming Kubalik is worth a 2nd which he isn't to the Canucks. And that Garland is worth nothing which he only is if the Canucks are completely cap crunched.

Fair argument except for Kubalik & Garland’s values being similar. They are not, for obvious monetary reasons.

Thats why I said similar value players. Adding in salary Kubalik has more trade value but when Garland is expiring he'll have the same value. A 2nd probably at the deadline.

Three more yrs. Two more than Kubalik. We are talking about a good player who is worth his contract but because there is a rumour he's being shopped and because the Canucks are known to need to shed some salary everyone thinks he has negative value.

He just got 66 points because of Caufield. Suzuki overperformed every analytical stats offensively. Both of their shooting % was 16%. No way they can keep that up. Suzuki is a career 10-11% and caufield will be a career 13-14%

And the way he plays, he shouldnt even be playing Center. He plays along the boards and never occupies the middle. And hes too slow to make it up defensively. So in an ideal world, hes on the right wing anyways. And even then, he still wont be a ppg player because hes not that good at driving offence on his own. Dach and Caufield are the only ones on the roster rn that could get ppg.

Maybe you should watch more games instead of posting garbage takes like this here, maybe you'd understand hockey better.

1) turn cap lock off

2) the Habs should be looking for futures since they’re about a decade away from competing for a wild card spot.

3) LOL at Montreal being the Mecca of hockey.

4) “proven himself” to average .7 points per game(across 4 years, he’s not a rookie). That’s good enough to be a very solid 2C.

5) thinking that you can get a teams top player just because you’re giving your top player is silly. If that’s the case, the Sharks should be trading Karlsson for McDavid, after all they’re both teams top players

Habs 10 years away? You are delusional lol.

I know you hate the habs but atleast try to hide your bias a bit.

I agree with everything you said except for the part about needing to reach the cap floor. Signing a free agent RHD for $5m solves that issue/difference quite easily. I do however think if CHI did do something like this, I’d still do it from chicagos perspective but I’d want a lot more.

Yes, the cap floor is a minor thing, the retention is huge and to give DET of all teams a top D man for 5m for the next 7 years as a CHI GM can get you fired.

7 years retention is far too long to even consider without a mammoth return which no team in the league would be willing or should do, the move can't happen.

Suzuki is as untouchable as Seider. But it doesn’t mean a good offer won’t be accept

Suzuki is untouchable, unless it’s a good offer 😂
*hey siri, what’s the definition of untouchable*

But saying Suzuki is the same value or level as Seider is foolish.

JeffGorton brought actual stats and facts and you replied with insults and “nuh uhh” 😂

10 years in this division in accurate. And I don’t hate the Habs, i nothing the Habs. They just exist. Avs, Leafs, Blackhawks, Bettman I hate. Habs… meh

Suzuki is good yes. Statistically so far he’s shown to be a very good 2C. But until he averages a PPG season, he’s just a good 2C. Same argument can still be made with Larkin who has put up significantly better seasons(on equally bad teams, maybe worse) than Suzuki so far.

Little brother always gonna little brother. Even after their recent run and (totally legit and in no way rigged) lottery gift from the league 😂
