Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

First two trades are part of a 3 way hockey trade. Anaheim needs a true RW, Colorado needs a 2C, and Seattle needs a boost to their powerplay, and could stand to get younger. All players have similar cap hit and term, Anaheim getting the least term and the highest cap hit. All three pieces are also somewhat expendable to their original teams. Anaheim has too many Centers, Girard is getting pushed out by Byram in Colorado, and Seattle has a seemingly unlimited supply of middle 6 forwards. Feels like a trade that works for all parties involved.

Rutta clears out cap space for Pitt. Backup plan is resign Shattenkirk to a one year deal.

Middleton is also cap out for Minnesota, also the only defenseman without a NMC. Backup option is sign Kulikov to two year deal.

Oilers fans want to upgrade on Ceci, and are cap crunched. Backup options is go after a UFA.

Was named Wheeling and Dealing because it was a trade focused ACGM.

Strome with Rants on his wing would probably be a legit 2c. His production last season wouldn't suggest it. Not sure I would give up Girard for someone who needs to be boosted to be a 2C. I did not watch Anahiem that often tho tbf

I'd probably just watch his stuff from NYR, as that would be more representative of his capabilities. Girard seems like the obvious man out with Byram knocking on the door, and Col's early/mid rounds picks are basically all gone except for 1sts.

I'd be fine for swapping the COL 2nd we have for the 23 1st, value is that of a mid 2nd per the athletic, and we could add something minor to further balance down to a late 2nd for payment, but fans are being rather touchy with their 23 1sts.

Oh goodness no, not on top of Girard, in lieu of Girard. I think the hockey trade makes sense as its cap neutral and COL seems to have an excess of expensive LHD, and I would think that Byram is pushing Girard out of the spot next to Manson. Its not an exciting trade or a "win" but its a deal that works well enough.

If you think Girard could be better utilized as a trade chip for something else, or want to keep the defensive core together, I would also accept the pick swap for Strome.

We wouldn't retain salary as there are too many years left on his deal, and he has a 4 team trade list, not 4 team NTC, but a 27 team NTC.

He's the only veteran still under contract and our #1 defenseman at the moment, even if he is probably a fringe top pairing guy, or just a solid minute munching top 4 on a team with a component defensive core. Given how poor our defense was overall, we really can't afford to subtract Fowler without raising the white flag on the season before it starts.

Once the rookies that have been highly touted start pushing for roster spots on the big team in a year or two time we could look at moving him, but I would say at the moment, there's no chance we move on from him.
