  1. Panarin, Artemi
Détails additionnels:
Cheap return = No retention.

Ducks look to turn the corner from garbage bin to being competitive. Getting Panarin on a short term 3 year contract will get the most mileage out of the Strome contract without sandbagging their future cap.

Panarin waives to reunite with Strome and play on a fun team with some young high end talent.

Rangers get cap space and the ability to better mold their lineup for playoff success.

Ducks are not paying to take on that big of a contract when we are rebuilding

Not to mention we have to sign Terry and Zegras this offseason

It would 100% clog our future cap and you would have to pay a hefty price to get us to take him

Quick and Easy no from ANA here. Doesnt fit our compete window in the slightest and cripples our negotiating power on our two most important players

Gotta look at a teams entire situation before you claim this wouldnt cripple them when it would 1000%

I did look and I disagree with your assertions. The Ducks have 40 million in space, maybe around 25 million after Zegras/Terry extended, and they have 11 million in useless money rolling off in Henrique/Silfverberg after next season. There’s plenty of space now and the next couple of seasons.

You are absolutely hilarious. 96 points yea quick and easy no our top player had 65 points. Delusional thinking the cap is an issue for Anaheim.

If Panarin’s so good then why trade him?

Fun thought but no chance Panarin waives to play for a terrible team that is rebuilding.

This is assuming ANA is a salary cap ceiling team, which we have not been for sometime

The Ducks operate off an internal budget believed to be below 75M taking approximately 10M off your numbers

We need to sign a back up goalie, about 4 NHL caliber defenseman and fill out our bottom 6

I know how my favourite team of 25 years operates and what they need.

If this is such an amazing deal for the Ducks why trade him?

The two of you are also blatantly ignoring "Mr. Only Big Markets" having a NMC. You guys are stuck with that anchor of a contract whether you like it or not

I didn't ignore the NMC. Read the trade notes. He was close with Strome on and off ice, and while he scored 92 points this year, he wasn't as good without Strome. Don't confuse big market with big city appeal. Anaheim is right next to Los Angeles, and if there is one city in the country that rivals NYC for bright lights, it's LA.

Panarin signed 4 years ago and was a great move for the Rangers. He helped get them back on the map. He's an excellent player, but with the way the chips fell, they have a little bit too much perimeter talent now to take the next step. I see the Ducks about where the Rangers were 4 years ago. Missing the playoffs for 5 years? There's rebuilding, and then there's perpetual rebuilding that gets you nowhere. The Ducks are close to the latter and need to start turning the corner. I suspect they know that based on their UFA signings last summer.

Re: the Ducks cap. 5 out of the last 7 years they spent up to the cap or within 5% of the upper limit. That's easily verifiable on this website. Going max cap is of no concern, and if you are referring to the underlying actual salary being the concern of the owners, Panarin's contract is 99% signing bonus money. After this year's $10M signing bonus is paid out in July, the actual salary due for the last 3 years of the contract would be 16 million of total dollars.

I'm personally not advocating for trading Panarin, not interested. But found the response quite comical and got involved.
