Sakic isn't giving up Byram for a one year rental in William Nylander, Especially for a guy who's reportedly seeking between $9,000,000 per to $10,000,000 per long term. Landy is only out this season and should be back in 2024.

I'd like to say it's because they think the Avs should want Nylander so bad they'd be willing to part with Byram to get him for one year but that would make them delusional and we know that isn't true.

Just another delusional Leaf fan, Thinking that Nylander to Colorado makes perfect sense. Colorado can't afford him long term for the money and term he'll command. And they're not giving up the assets that it would take for a one year rental.

Minnesota isn't taking on any team cap dump, nor trading their 1c for an expensive cap dump LD they don't need

You can relax man no need to get all worked up.

This is under the assumption the Avs would extend Nylander. Landeskog is missing the year but theres no guarantee he will ever play again considering the surgery hes having.

Just thinking of some concepts of what moving one of our big pieces would look like. If you're getting this upset you might want to take a break from the forum.

That's fair about Hartman but Brodie isn't a cap dump. He didn't have a great showing in the playoffs but he's still a really good player and can play both the right and left side. Could have fit him on this roster without "dumping" his salary.

Nylander is supposedly looking at $10,000,000 per long term. Even if Landeskog has a career ending injury. The odds of Colorado being able to afford William Nylander is awfully small. Byram isn't being moved for Nylander. And that deal overall should Nylander be moved is going to be beat.

I think if his contract fully expires he could see that number on the open market maybe. But I do think IF Sakic was interested there are ways it could work. I thought Byram would be more moveable off his ELC but by some peoples reaction that seems not to be the case.

So we are giving up a guy that could be on our top pair as early as this year and was the best player in the SCF last year for the opportunity to choose to let either Nylander or Toews walk when Landy comes back in 24? Or dump Landy for peanuts. Avs won't move an asset that valuable if it puts them in that situation. You don't plan for him to not return in 24 until you know for sure. There will be much cheaper wings available to fill Landy's spot for 1 year (Taylor Hall comes to mind). IF any of the LD are moved, its going to be for a Top 6 F (ideally 2C) that fits long term with 2 of Toews/Girard/Byram and Landy contracts in 24 and beyond.

Minnesota isn't the place to shove bad contract on
