I agree but I'm confused on what you mean for the conditional pick. I think what you're trying to do is like the NBA has pick protection so that if it's not in the top 5, it goes to St. Louis, but if it is then Colorado keeps it and gives them 2019 first round pick regardless of if it's in the top 5. But I could be wrong, and if someone can clarify what that means that would be helpful.

yeah the way it's worded doesnt make sense. Basically what he is saying is if the pick isn't in the top-5 STL loses the pick and gives up two picks for nothing

TJ Oshie is 30, going on 31. There are plenty of playoff teams who would offer him $6M+. Don't see him signing in a black hole like COL unless it's a really crazy amount of money; in that case, I don't see COL having any reason to offer him a crazy amount of money. If they're rebuilding, they aren't hunting for 30 year olds looking for the biggest contract of their career.

I'm not sure what is worse, the value in the Duchene trade, the Avs trading their 2018 first, or giving Oshie $7m. They are all terrible moves.
