I think you need to realize that Miller is a better hockey player, playing on an inferior team and cheaper than Tavares but you keep on believing your team has a shot.
You need to overpay to get someone to take that boat anchor of a contract.

I get your point about wanting to trade Tavares. If the leafs can they should. However, this trade is awful and gets rejected by both sides.

That’s the point, the trade is really irrelevant, the point is all the GM trading Matthews & Marner but Tavares is just sitting there. That’s the problem, Tavares is 5M to 6M over.

That’s a few good players or retention of players.

I think that's because most people have accepted the fact that he can't be moved.

If that's the point of the trade, just trade Tavares and not 5 other pieces because this just distracts from that point.
