That's an overpay for Marner, but people will keep saying it's an underpay.

Marner had as many points this past playoffs (11 games) as Anderson has done in his career (43 games). Who's the playoff performer?

Judging by the ridiculous low ball offers on this site, if Marner gets traded you fools are going to lose your minds. This is not even in the same solar system.

You all really think he's going to go for a mid prospect and a mid 1st eh? The leaf haters are a ridiculous and irrational bunch.

Personally, I would personally rather keep Anderson. Not that Marner isn't great just his play style isn't what you need to be successful in the post season where as Anderson is exactly the type of player you need for the playoffs

Like his point a game playoff performances. Those times. Yeah you guys who want the Leafs to fail more than your own team succeed are a special breed

Yah but he tends to disappear during the very important playoff games like elimination games

Game 5 vs Flordia. 0G, 0A, 0P
Game 4 vs Flordia. 1G,1A, 2P
Game 5 vs TB. 0G,1A, 1P
Game 6 Vs TB. 0G,0A,0P
Game 6 vs TB (2022). 0G,0A,0P
Game 7 vs TB (2022). 0G,1A,1P
In the last two years in elimination/clinching games, he has 4 points in 6 games which is nowhere close to the PPG playoff performer he is as a whole. But he sure doesn't tend to disappear when things really matter

Check out Kucherov's performance in elimination games. Points aren't everything. But if Marner has no value, he won't be traded. Anyone who thinks they will just give him away for pennies on the dollar is just ridiculous. Which just so happens to be 90% of the people on this site.

No, I don't think that he'll be traded for pennies on the dollar but I think the fair price for Marner is something in the realm of 2-3 1st rounders and 1-2 of that teams top 10 prospects and a couple of other good prospects but the asking price some of the armchair gm's are asking for Marner is absolutely insane

I haven't seen any offers near that good. It's always something like a 40-50 point winger and a mid to late 1st people say it's fair.

Murray's a cap dump, it reduce's Marner's value in this trade. Face it man, he's overpaid and underproducing - he's most likely staying in TOR with his 4 overpaid buddies.

I used to love the Sabres, 2000s when they had a stacked team. Brière was fun to watch, was a beast in the playoffs and a big plus : he didn't make 11M a year.

Those were the days!

No one did back then. So making that comparison is rather pointless.
