Description

If we sought to add a top 3C, who is the best a Marino + Holtz package could buy?

JEE is serving as example here.

Goal would be to be able to run three lines. Right now, teams that play match-ups well are best at neutralizing Hughes and Hischier. A perfect fit would be a two-way center that fits our high-pace style of play. Cap and age factors as well. This all assumes we extend Severson and Nemec is on track for 2024-25 arrival.

With all due respect, Minnesota isn't trading one of the best shutdown d and rising C in the league just signed to 8 years extension for a d they have no need for and winger prospect.

My think is this…

Teams are adapting to Hughes and playing their best defensive units against him. Hischier is often deployed in defensive situations or to counter opponents top lines. So there are a bunch of situations where our third line could end up with favorable match-up, but our 3rd line wasn’t good enough to fully capitalize on a mismatch. In the Carolina series, it feel to our fourth line (Wood, Bastian, McLeod) who looked better offensively than they had in a while. If we had a legit 3rd line that could play similarly style as Hughes and Hischier lines , we may have been able to do more in those minutes that made McLeod look like an offensive stud.

Can I just say with all due respect, you didn't? Minnesota doesn't need a d as their prospects pool is stacked with one. Then you offered a winger/ winger prospect when Minnesota just spent the last two 1st round picks on one. C , especially one like Eriksson ek signed to 8 years extension are expensive and don't get traded

C'S ARE always cost more especially young two way C like Eriksson ek. You didn't even put a 1st or give up any good pieces. He's not a 3c respectfully. Any C will always cost.

Um...a top-4 dman and a top-10 prospect are very good pieces. I would happily replace either with any pick we own.

And like you said you should have put Eriksson ek because you didn't offer anything to Minnesota that they need besides him not being available
