Nice try. If Bertuzzi would have asked that from Wings he would be wearing the Winged Wheel

Meh, value is fine, but I'd much rather sign one of the FA goalies, than trade for DeSmith

If another gm is willing to pay more for 50-55 point player, by all means. I think Bert will get 5.5 tops on the open market.

Fair. Detroit is the first team I thought of that didn’t have 2 goalies signed for next year.

Except he put up 10 points in 7 games in the playoffs. He is built for playoff hockey. He is good for 30 goals and 60 points. I have no idea what happened to him defensively in Boston. He was reliable in Detroit and frequently killed penalties.

You obviously didn't see the Playoffs. He'd still be a Red Wing if he were happy with 5.5 mil AAV.

Man…you guys are REALLY adjusting well to the fact that he didn’t resign in Detroit. Do you think that maybe…just maybe he didn’t want to step out of his house and be in Detroit anymore? He had a great playoff, no argument. He went on a hot streak for 7 games and his team suffered the biggest upset in nhl history. This makes him an 8m per year player evidently?

You're talking out of your arse. It had nothing to do with Bert wanting out of Detroit. Yzerman wasn't willing to give Bert the term he wanted. He was offering 4 years. Bert wants 6-8. So Stevie made the decision to trade him for a 1st instead of losing him for nothing as a UFA. And no one said 8 mil you sniveling crybaby. 😭

Are you saying Bert is solely to blame for the Bruins playoff collapse? See I can pull straws too. Me so smart!

Don't be surprised if that 7 game hot streak leads to his M number starting with a 7. Personally I am expecting closer to 6.75. If a team gets him for less, embrace it!

This is a stimulating exchange… let’s talk again in July when he re-signs in Boston for 5.5m, cool? Then you can find a new slant as to why he didn’t want to leave detroit instead of accepting that Detroit is in the bottom 5 cities to live in with an NHL team.

Let's keep this to hockey and not insult cities. If you can not do that maybe you should grow up or get off this website. Rumor was he was offered 6 at 5 years and he turned it down. His girlfriend is from Detroit also, one he has a child with, so he is looking to get paid.

Actually Detroit is one of the more desired cities to raise a family. Low cost of living, plenty of amenities, lots of nature, abundant lakes, close proximity to other cities. Detroit as a hockey organization takes care of it's players even after retirement.

The some science nerd did an interesting study on climate and best places to live. Guess where the best place to live in the world?

Out of curiosity…what did Bertuzzi sign for today? I mean I saw the report for 1 year at 5.5 million. But that can’t be right??? If so he would have signed in Detroit to wear the winged wheel, right? He wanted a long term deal. And surely once it was obvious that he wasn’t getting the long term deal, he would have gone back to Detroit on the short term deal. You know…since it’s such a great place to live 😂
