Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Fun little three way trade:

Buf gives: VO, 1st, 2nd
Buf Gets: Matt Roy (signs extension, 5x5.5), 3rd

Justification: Sabres get a veteran partner for Owen Power, they have enough futures. Win now.

Arizona gives: Vejmelka, 3rd
Arizona gets: BUF 2024 1st (top10 protected), 2nd, Cal Petersen (after his signing bonus is paid)

Arizona gets good futures for their goalie. VO can be flipped for more assets at the deadline, Petersen can play in AZ and try to recoup his career, and the real money is not particularly high after LAK pays the bonus.

LAK gives: Matt Roy, Cal Petersen, 3rd
LAK gets Vejmelka

LAK clears space and gets a starting goalie (assume that JK leaves). They are stacked on RD so they can absorb the loss of Roy. They can sign a LD with the space that opened.

Roy is not the D they will trade. Walker or Durzi are the expendable ones.

As a Los Angeles fan in general and a Matt Roy fan in particular, I think that this is a pretty close thing. I'm not convinced that Matt is as untradeable as Adrian Kempe or Phillip Danault or Mikey Anderson, for example, and I remember our conviction that Brock Faber was "untouchable," too. My hang-up is that I'm not sold on Karel Vejmelka. But I would do this if the goalie we were getting was Jeremy Swayman.

I always hated seeing Engval on the ice, he would be a very nice addition to the Sabres fourth line.
If you are trading Luukkonen, why not keep Petterson and save the cap from signing Raanta?
But maybe you are correct to go after Raanta.
Once in my life I had a chance for a menage a trois and passed, this one is certainly a good one.
