You're aware Hextall got canned, right? Pens aren't coming close to considering this.
Boeser's never been the most sound defensive player, and this year was especially poor there. The offense is nice, but we have a lot of that already. I'd consider picking him up, but I think we can do better in free agency.

Not appealing. Miller hasn't been very good defensively this year either, hasn't been the one driving play, and has basically been a PP specialist. Now, I'm fairly certain that those numbers would have gone up since, but they'd only be able to improve so much.
Based off his most recent performance, Miller isn't worth a lotto pick and several of the Pens' few notable young players. Yeah, Granlund's value is low at best, but it's probably easier (and more worthwhile) to buy him out.
All for a player on the wrong side of 30 and with an extention that will age poorly (if it hasn't already) that Vancouver fans can't seem to quit trying to pawn off on us.
How exactly does aquiring Miller even benefit the Pens?

The penguins accept the Boeser trade. POJ, Smith, Nylander, and a 2023 1st is too much of the future for the Penguins to give up with no retained salary on Miller's contract.
