Why? It's twice the term and twice the price, and he does not play a position of need.

Okay, and Gudbranson still has an extremely buy-out-able contract that only lasts three more seasons, at the same position two of our top prospects play with limited roster spots available. There is no benefit to tying up an RD roster spot and an extra five and a half million dollars a year for four more seasons beyond Gudbranson's deal--years when we will hopefully be contending and probably in desperate need of five and a half million dollars. The team's cap doesn't matter at all while Gudbranson is here as the team is not contending. This is a foolish trade.
