With the Retanied salalry the Sens could make this move and still sign Debrincat I would think. The question is do they want to commit to 3 full seasons of it whne Soogard is likley goign to be ready to take on a Starter role before that contract ends.

that's a whole lot to commit to multiple years of a goalie ho was not particularly good this season. not many goalies that I'd trade that package for, Markstrom ain't one of them

Yeah I agree. The original idea came from a discussion with a Sens fan regarding their goaltending. I think if the Flames are moving a goalie, it's going to be Vladar and his more friendly 2.2m/2 year deal.

Markstrom will need a rebound year before he is tradeable again. He is a liability at the moment, not an asset.
