If Murray is on LTIR, there is no reason for the Leafs trade him. I really don't think come July, any team can expect Murray will be LTIR the whole season. Leafs would prefer Murray (for cap reasons only) to be on LTIR the whole season. Leafs have that big decision come June 15th whether to buy him out to save cap. To me that is the most likely option.

I think the Sens can do much better on the Cat trade. I like the Gourde acquisition but id want a future piece added on that, either a 1st or good prospect.

I also dont want Murray back

Gourde is not worth even remotely close to Cat, adding a waiver pick up and a 2nd does not bridge the gap at all.
