Yeah but they realistically should do a retool but that doesn't mean giving up firsts and young assets for a guy that is 27 and by the time we're good could be on the outs too also has trade protection next season so that might be an issue

Scheifele is not the type of player Buffalo would want. He's got 1 year left to UFA, and while they hopefully make the playoffs next season, they probably won't do much in them given how young they still are. They also already have Tage and Cozens as their top 6 centers. Makes no sense from their POV.
