I’d rather just keep Dado and Domi. Gotta think Dado would sign a cheap one year deal as he seems to enjoy playing in Dallas. It sucks that Segs and Marchie got hurt, but Domi really seems to make that line work. If he’ll sign a similar deal to Marchie’s I think he’s a keeper. Send Faksa somewhere with a pick attached. Don’t see Delly getting that much money. Point production just isn’t there. Don’t see a reason for a goalie change. I think there’s guys in Cedar Park that make Bonino unnecessary. Donato will get more money and I’d rather keep Domi. Reaves is bad at all aspects of hockey with gloves on. Promote internally for the fourth line. Stankoven can move into the top six if Pavs or Dado struggles

Leaving the d core alone is probably okay. Would like to see Harley worked into the mix. Fewer minutes for Hakanpaa would likely help. The sooner Nils gains the coach’s trust the better

Agree. I feel like he’d be a good fit in Buffalo

Even at 750k retention Faksa is unlikely to provide surplus value on his 2.5m AAV.
I have a hard time seeing the Devils trading Smith out, he's been decent enough as their 6th-7th D.
I'd much rather the Devils resign Haula to address any bottom 6 needs in the offseason.

Bourque should make the team next year. This gives you the choice of signing either Domi or Dadonov. Keep the money to upgrade the D by getting someone on the UFA market and promote Harley, after buying out Suter and trading Hakanpaa.

I don’t see trading Jani going over well in the locker room. The guys love him and there’s zero reason to trade him. He doesn’t need to be gone he just needs third pair minutes. Trust with the coaching staff is a strange thing. Suter and Hakanpaa make mistakes that would mean press box time for Harley and Nils. But they keep playing. It’s easy for us fans to say buyout Surer and trade Hakanpaa so DeBoer plays Harley and Nils. But if either or both of those young players struggle it’s a bad look for Nill. The vets struggle and nobody looks at the coach/GM as they’ve been regular NHLers in the past. Nils makes bad passes and misses assignments. Harley floats around and misses assignments and is scared to physically engage especially in front of the net. Things you get away with in junior and somewhat in the A. Do it in the NHL and it’s a high danger chance against with a high probability of being a goal against. I’d also be more excited for Bourque and Harley if they were tearing up the A. They aren’t. Maybe they’re working on other aspects of their game. I don’t know. But neither of them are forcing Nill’s hand right now. That said, Harley has def improved his play without the puck. So fingers crossed. If they can’t get at least one quality NHL defensemen out of Nils and Harley they need to stop using good draft picks on dmen cuz they don’t have a clue how to develop them. I said what I said

Agree. NJ isn’t a good fit for Fox
