I’d send out that package for Konecny rather than Provorov. Also both of those Montreal and LA trades are bad for us. McMichael will be fine. Caps fans need to stop overreacting and sending him out for nothing. Hoffman is not going to do anything for us either.

That's not enough for Konecny.

Montreal trade is in no way bad. Look at what Detroit got for Vrana after a 50% retention; Mantha has negative trade value, as does Hoffman. It benefits Montreal because they get a hometown player as a reclamation project who they can likely retain on and flip on the deadline. It also allows Washington to recoup a draft pick and buy out Hoffman for less than it would have cost to move Mantha, and a lower buyout cap hit.

The LA trade gives both players a change of scenery. Turcotte has a higher ceiling than McMichael.

Matha's best in WSH isnt as good enough to beat Hoffmans worst.
Habs fans cry because they expected him to fix our dead last PP since Muller took over.
Its actually gotten worse some how under Burrows but Hoffman , he was clearly the key to everything lol.

Our Fanbase clearly loves Molson and i do mean the Beverage because their reactions to some players is very much like a Drunk dude's.
I mean Lars Eller , Phil Danault and Ben Chiarot are the 3 most glaringly obvious examples of MTL fans abusing players.
Hoffman is right up there though as he did well given before MTL 49.5% of all his points were from Powerplay alone .

Really he's your Armia at this point but paid more

Turcotte Had a higher Ceiling .
Left NCAA after 1 year and declined each year or failed to grow depending on your POV for 3 straight years.
His system is East-West when he's a North-South player

To be honest Turcotte's Father was a key Mentor to many of the call ups who become Rookies and Sophmore's on MTL's 1986 Cup.
What he was to our AHL program means whether Turcotte succeeded here at AHL or NHL level MTL wins

With Mantha the legacy he's chasing is actually a cup winner
We'd require him to jump back to his DET form before the trade which is unlikely

I'd rather have Mantha over Hoffman. Rather see what Mantha does with a different coach next year. Also if you're going to buyout Hoffman, there is zero reason to acquire him. We're not in the business of trading for players to buy them out.

McMichael does not need a change of scenery. You are overreacting like every other caps fan. He is still very young and needs time to develop. Turcotte has not shown anything special that warrants swapping the two on our end.

I'd rather include Chesley and the first in a trade that sees us acquire Konecny. We have no use for Provorov. We have enough LHD as is.
