Pass. If they can’t value back the buyout is cheap. Or even crazier, they trade other LD for value keep Reilly and use him. He’s a solid 18 min a night #5 NHL d man. His being in the AHL has nothing to do with his ability, purely cap move.

I hear you on Reilly's abilities...kinda doesn't matter though. Jason Dickinson, Tyler Johnson, Nakita Zaitsev were actually in the NHL and cost 2nd rounders to dump. Specifically on JD and NZ...the hawks never cared about this year's hit either. BOS should just buy him out. $300k and then $1M.

Yup, buyout that cheap they don’t give up a 3rd to move him in offseason.

Might pay to move him today but unlikely. Barely has any affect this year. Might as well just hold him as insurance and buy him out if the can’t move him.

Oh for sure! Keep him in case of injury and buy him out in the offseason. That's the best move for BOS. Kyle Davidson needs to stand firm/consistent. Any team wants to dump players...our track record shows it'll cost a 2nd.

Try and create a 23 man roster for the bruins next year and you'll see the bruins literally can't afford a buyout with the bonuses, someone will take Rielly for less than a third at the draft.

It’s pretty simple. They trade Hall, one of Forbort/Grizz buyout Reilly. There is 12m in cap space gained. Reilly buyout is 300k next year. Insignificant.

Trading Hall is a mistake, put him back in the top six on the LW with Zacha and Pasta. He had 61 points last year with Haula and Pasta, he's a guy who needs to play with some skill Coyle and Frederic do not complement his style of play.

Can’t keep everyone. They have to make sacrifices. Look at the roster and tell me who goes instead of him. Marchy, Debrusk, Pasta, Zacha, lindy, Mac are def staying.

    Coyle a almost has to…center

Carlo NTC looming and concussion history but nobody to replace him.

That leaves Hall, Grizz, Forbort,Reilly, Ullmark of players signed.

Moving Reilly and another D man is no enough. Someone else has to go. Hall is the obvious choice.

They will have to make more moves in the off-season than just buying out Reilly. Cap casualties at their finest. We still don't know Bergeron and Krejci's intentions. They could very well retire, but they are also just as likely to come back for another year with how great this team is.

Also, they need to find a way to keep Orlov.

Can they? Sure. Should they? Probably not.

If that space could be used to resign Bertuzzi and Hathaway both. Or Orlov? 2 year of Hall can be replaced for cheaper while gaining draft capital.

I don’t think they should sign any of those guys, all gonna cost too much and none of them can play center, most important thing after this year is looking for a number 1 center, Zacha should be able to play 2c but once Bergy is gone the team goes down hill. Looking for a young center after next season is number one priority and signing those guys won’t help you get one.

    Neither does keeping Hall.

But you can get picks/prospects for him that could turn into a center. You can’t for UFAs.

    Which would you rather have:

    Bertuzzi/Hathaway/assets from Hall trade

    Or

    Hall

    I’ll take the first batch.

Those guys will get long term deals, Bertuzzi alone will get what Hall is getting, hall will help in the short term over the next season or 2 and then he can get moved. I see it as a lateral move signing Bertuzzi just to trade Hall

Hathaway is a 32 year old 4th liner he’s not getting long term deal or much of raise if any. Being a New Englander I’m sure there will be some desire to stay there as well.

Bertuzzi - meh. After the year he has had so far the leverage isn’t going to be there. Maybe, but it does not have to be him he’s was just the closest option.

Hall isn’t the hill to die on.
