The top three lines and top 4 d are solid.. but there isnt much cap room to keep improving and Pinto and Sanderson need new contracts the following year without any money coming off the books.

I'd like to see Gauthier play that 3rd line with Joseph and Pinto instead of signing C. Brown. Gauthier is being described as a Tyler Motte kind of player but a few years younger. Sens fans are all aware of how impressive the Joseph-Pinto-Motte line was to start the year, would love to see that line again. Joseph hasn't looked the same since that line broke up.

Take the money you plan on using with Brown and give more to Pinto and Branny. Maybe get Branny on a 1.5Mx2Y and Pinto at 3.25Mx3. Branny's play has warranted a pay increase, I don't think you can get away with another year of him at $1M.

You also forgot to sign LHD Tyler Kleven. Could honestly see the Senators moving on from Branny this offseason to make a spot for Kleven.

Jordan Kyrou took 2.8 when he was on track for more points than Pinto.

But the difference is; the cap will go up and Pinto knows that whereas it was a flat cap when Kyrou signed his extension

The cap won't go up next year, so Pinto takes two years to assert himself then he cashes out in a couple of years when the cap is a lot higher.
