Possible Red Wings 2023 Trade Deadline Moves

Description
What I potentially think the Red Wings could do at this years trade deadline.
For me that Flyers 2024 2nd round pick, or the Boston 2023 1st round pick could be moved for either Chycrun or to dump Chiarot in the offseason but I think one of them being a sweetener is more realistic so they can make room for Edvidson.

Why are we sending a 2nd back to Toronto? That's not happening. We're taking 2 cap dumps and a guy who's made of glass? And we're retaining? There's no value here.

You're not a Red Wings fan.

Sunny gets a 3rd.

Retaining on Vrana to get Stepan? Yeah right.

Perron won't be traded until next year's trade deadline.

Ned for a 3rd???? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You realize Bertuzzi is made of glass himself correct? He's a good player but can't stay healthy, two hand injuries this year, played only nine games back in the shortened covid season, and of course got injured again last season. If he stayed healthy that second would not be included in this trade and would be much better off if it was used to package with Chiarot to dump that terrible contract just somewhere. By next deadline if Detroit is smart, they could be in a position to fight for the playoffs but not the cup. They need a backup goalie to replace Husso, to callup Edvidson, and add another piece or two. By then Perron will be an expiring contract, and I would say most likely not be resigned is my guess, Soderblom deserves more playing time in the NHL as he could be a good career middle six player. Stephan would come back in the deal just for the roster spot to be freed up for Carolina, Detroit WILL be underwhelming I believe because of how we've treated such a talented player, but could be a little more than I said. Sunny will not be a 3rd, I'm sorry even if the Bruins are cup or bust this season, they could get a better player than him for the same price, even if the market has gone crazy, look at that Engvall return for example. Ned could go for a third or fourth, but whatever it is the smartest thing to do is gather assets that could be used for future trades when we're competing. Going for the playoffs thid year and trading for players that could get there would be incredibly stupid, you will be a first round exit to Boston or Carolina.

Leafs have moves to be made period, Wings do take cap on PLUS the Leafs have to trade another defensemen, and most likely a broker will be involved in that trade I'd guess. Might not be Nosek coming back to Detroit but definitely if Sunny gets traded as a fit for Boston as they could use his size more effectively then Detroit has. Last two games showed that they need to get him playing more physically, Boston would get that out of him.

If I'm retaining on Bert and taking kerfoot to facilitate the cap I'm not adding a 2nd.

Like mentioned as a reply to another, might not be Nosek coming back but I'd say the Bruins could be the team to get the best out of him, the physical edge with his size he needs for the big body he has.

Think the WIngs will send a pick of some kind back, maybe not a second if Robertson is coming with the return, maybe a spare 4th or later pick? But no matter the deal Bertuzzi is in, salary must be retained not a question. If the Wings are to go get a better prospect then maybe the second.

For Bertuzzi and injuries it is an actual fact the injuries he has had, and the production point wise when he has played is 14 in 29 games, injuries have had an affect on him for sure but he just hasn't been the same as last season. He finally showed the physicality last game with his "fight" which was more of a wrestling match with a couple fights.

Well, Nosek is the top PK forward for boston, so they won’t be moving him for, “sunny.” 50% retained on “sunny,” for like a 5th, and maybe.

Puke.

WIngs would already have 1 contract with retained salary before (Panik), 3 max retained contracts if they do Bert (which they will), and Vrana (maybe)

Not all these trades would obviously happen, Suter trade depends on Rass health situation as he currently is on IR and is listed week to week but I'd say it is probably one of the more unlikely ones that could occur. Don't see them keeping Ned, like Vrana situation where I'd say they miss treated them but they won't leave for next to nothing. Bertuzzi will also go 100%, extension is not close at all and talks have stopped entirely. Sunny just not seeing him being here next season, especially with a better player with roughly the same build in the AHL (Soderblom) just get something for him. Holland I will guess does overpay for Zadina, Yamamoto having better season with almost double amount of games played but Zadina in bottom six when he plays. Also one year age difference maybe 1 for 1 there, but see Holland being interested in Perron too and could overpay there too. Oestrle also don't see being around after this season with changes in defense, Lindstrom is also still 24 and could be a good career bottom pairing defensemen and would want him to play more.

Bertuzzi should go. Sunny should go. Ned wouldn't fetch any interest (except maybe Chicago if they want to offer like a 5th). Suter is one of the best PKers in the league and is a great depth player. Zadina has phenomenal underlying numbers and passes the eye test nearly every time he's on the ice.

judging the fact that it sounds as it's a possibility Zadina gets traded I'd wouldn't be surprised. Suter holds value through his PK skills this year. Ned is just an interesting scenario, he's 100% better than Hellberg and should be in the NHL for us, would've been for him playing 2 of the last 3 games before the deadline to up value.

Would say if they can send a decent return for Sunny's value then it would make them better. Just someone in some kind of roster spot must go the other way in return that would most likely stay in Detroit for a couple months.

Alright. Whatever. Doesn’t work for boston though.

And calling him sunny is nauseating.
