Sandin? This is a terrible trade for Toronto. And Vancouver isn't retaining on Garland for 3 years.

Kerfoot already does what Garland would provide + doesn't have a terrible contract attached to him for 3 more years
It's debatable whether Schenn or Holl is better suited for this leafs lineup/system
And we're adding in Sandin

My bad on the Garland retention. I keep seeing it in CFACGMs today.

He is, along with Knies and the 2024 1st rounder. I just don't personally believe you used him to bring equivalent value back.

i'd say garland + Kerfoot can both benefit from a change in scenery but Garland definitely has more offensive upside than Kerfoot ever has. we'd be losing a pen killer in Kerfoot but we've gained many in Lafferty and ROR and Acciari

we've already replaced Sandin's roster spot with McCabe's today. in the offseason of Schenn didnt resign we'd have Timmins in that 6 spot

we're spending Sandin as a thank u to them on taking Holl + kerfoot as well as acquiring Garland, who i'd think would thrive offensively here in Toronto

ya that works, but then we've got 5 LHD and 1 RHD which isent ideal

Ok....I agree that Sandin is likely pushed out of the lineup with McCabe coming in....but having 8 NHL caliber D-men going into the playoffs is a very good thing. If you move Sandin out, one would think you'd bring something of similar value back. Schenn is a depth D-man. Garland is a small, underperforming winger who's not performing to his cap hit.

I'm ok to move on from Sandin...but the asset(s) coming back need to make sense.

I really don't see Kerfoot and Holl as cap dumps. And I truly believe that Garland would be the next "Kerfoot" as a bottom 6 winger making too much money and added to every ACGM trade on here in order to make room to re-sign our players or bring in somebody better.
