Curse you Darren Dreger, don't get my hopes up like this. I have finally given in and am doing my own Chyc trade.

Détails additionnels:
If the ask remains 2 1st round picks or a 1st round pick and a 1st round equivalent prospect, I think Washington would end up with a trade something like this.

BOS 1st: I don't think MacLellan would be willing to part with his own 1st rounder if he can find a way around it, and now that he has BOS's 1st that becomes somewhat easier.

McMichael can still fit the bill as a good prospect but Washington would have to add more. To McMichael's credit, he did well last year and looks to be rebounding in Hershey with a competent coach.

Arizona doesn't have many exciting goalie prospects, and given Gibson may choose to opt into free agency instead of playing against Clay Stevenson in the pipeline, I think he may take the chance to be an NHL goalie in Arizona instead of waiting for Lindgren and Kuemper to leave.

The Last player could certainly be a choice of Arizona's choosing. Alexander Suzdalev has been good but Washington may covet him more than others. Ludwig Persson is also decent but Arizona has quite the bevy of forward prospects and may not want another. I opted for Brent Johnson as he's shown good promise on the right side, but will likely be stuck in Washington behind Iorio and Chesley so he could be viewed as more expendable by Washington.

Might be just a tiny bit low on Chychrun trade. But like splitting hairs at this point. I think it’s enough, but arizona might get a bidding war for him. Depends on how they value those prospects.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Oshie. He’s been looking good. Hopefully he can finish out his contract and stay at a second or third line level. If he stays, probably move mantha out for a pick and the cap still works.

I like the trades (a little low on Edmonton return imo) and the fits make sense.

I want, more than most things, to see Oshie finish out his career in DC, but I'm just so pessimistic about it. Agreed about Mantha if Oshie comes back, though perhaps they can save money by running a 22 man roster and not bringing in Brown to give Mantha a chance with a better coach. I could also see Washington adding something else into the Chyc trade, depends on how much they value Gibson's .920ish seasons in Harvard. I wouldn't mind adding someone like Krebs, Magnussen, or Persson to get it done.

Toronto doesn't have cap space for a 1.75 mil 4th liner. That's going to be the big obstacle to any Eller trade, he just makes so much for what he is.

I'm expecting them to trade Kerfoot at some point but if that doesn't happen then just replace Toronto with Colorado or some team like that.

Edit: they should have plenty of room though with Muzzin not coming back, no?

I thought that the ask was 2 first round equivalents plus something else good, so I would think it would take one more better asset instead of Johnson. TEB confirmed that our own first this year is not getting moved, and Miro is also off the table

      To AZ:
      BOS 23 1st (29-32OA)
      WSH23 2nd (45-50 OA)
      McMichael
      Gibson
      Mantha

      To WSH:
      Chychrun
      AZ 23 6th
2 AHL deals to balance contracts

I don't mind that move, provided Mantha is not involved, as I'd still rather hold onto him than possibly pay more with Arizona viewing him as a dump. If Johnson has to be replaced by a pick, that's fine. I love the guy as a prospect but I don't know if Arizona will value him the same way with Moser, Lamoureux, and Soderstrom in the system.
