Capitals are going to try to compete next year so Wilson unfortunately won’t be traded but Jensen for Sandin works for me

Straight up I would probably do that so that would work. Then can maybe go after Jeannot for a 3rd+ and Korpisalo for backup goalie.

Has the shine come off Robertson this much? I feel like he was so recently an untouchable and now he’s being bandied about for a backup backup goaltender. I get that he can’t stay healthy, but wow.

At this point I feel he's more likely to not succeed than succeed (hope I'm wrong), therefore in this scenario we get something we need for him and can focus on developing Knies in the slot he would have taken for the future. Sure we might regret this trade but got to look at the here and now.

Neither Woll or Robertson should be in a trade for Korpisalo. The Leafs might need a 3rd string guy just in case but they should be going for someone that costs like a 4th to get. Korpisalo probably gets like a 3rd so he'll be out of range probably. Maybe they do trade Kallgren + a pick for Korpisalo but doubt it. Definitely won't be Robertson as a sweetener and if it's Woll it would be in a larger trade perhaps.

Leafs will need Robertson's ELC along with Knies' next year. Perhaps Robertson gets dealt next year for something if he doesn't become a permanent fixture.

Maybe if the Leafs wants both Gavrikov+Korpisalo they pay a 2024 1st + Robertson + Woll

Not 100% against this but would be nice to preserve the 1st if at all possible and if the above trade suggestion of Jensen for Sandin straight up happened then Gavrikov wouldnt be necessary.

Anyway, think we can all agree a nice top4 D, a back-up goalie and potentially another gritty forward would be ideal for the leafs before the trade deadline.

Sandin is definitely more important than the first, and if they remove anyone from their D-core they should still be adding another guy. I think Dubas would go for someone with term if he is giving up the 1st for a Dman rental but who knows.

Definitely agree with those points, although I think it goes top 4 D, gritty forward (if they remove someone from current group), then 3rd string goalie. Murray is expected to come back before the end of the season if I'm not mistaken.
