The value here isn't right. We aren't trading for Meier

1. Pretty fair. Not going to be exciting for Sharks fans though. But if we win Meier this is close to how it’ll most likely go.

2. Pretty heavily favors the Blues. I think if we’re getting a 1st for Barbashev it’s probably Boston or bust.

3. That’s a really bad return for Parayko. Bortuzzo playint 20 minutes a night should not be considered. Keeping Parayko would be our best move here and swapping out Krug with someone else so we can put him in a more sheltered role without having to put Faulk in it as well. That should at least free up Parayko to not be forced to handle the hardest and most minutes night in and night out with Nick Leddy as a partner.

4. Swap Broberg with Ceci and I think a Edmonton considers it. Still not sure if cap works there for them.

Im not sure how this could win Meier. Its not as good as many other offers

The only notable thing I’ve seen is Mercer is a sticking point with the Devils currently. I don’t know any team that’s going to include Mercer and Holtz for a guy who’s in a very similar situation to Horvat after seeing the return for Horvat.

Well thats your mistake, the situation isnt really comparable to Horvat.

Why? Because San Jose can retain him by giving him 10m this off-season? That’s not exactly a great deal for them. The only difference is that the Sharks have more time, but less of a market.

I think it should be a far greater market. STL wouldnt be in on Horvat, but they are on Meier

Are you expecting a team thats in a retool whom also is fairly tight on the cap to get in a bid war for someone?

That is what the insiders say. I would assume they start tanking, but the rumors say they want to be good next year and Timo is the way to do it

Oilers dont have the cap for Krug without retention

The insiders all have said that Armstrong has said he’s willing to move two of the firsts for him. That doesn’t mean they are going to get in a bid war. That doesn’t mean that Armstrong is going to offer the Blues first unprotected, it doesn’t mean you are going to see Snuggerud or Bolduc or Neighbors on the proposal.

I have not disagreed with what the insiders have said. And it could be true, may not be. Armstrong doesn’t really leak things, it’s most likely it’s someone on the Sharks side trying to start a bid war.
