Tend to agree with you, so many Leaf fans think all their prospects are going to be productive NHLers.
But out of that list, there is hope for Woll, Robertson, SDA and McMann. Now I'm not sure about SDA....and kinda doubt if he ready for full-time NHL duty year (but the cap strapped and talent deprived Leafs might be forced to put in start situation). Interesting about McMann. He had a "fair" college career, but somehow has really lit it up in the AHL. Can it translate to the NHL?
I seem to be in the minority among Leafs fan.....I have really "hated" so many many of their TDL trades. Trading away futures means the team lacks the ability to have cost controlled ELCs and controllable years just for the so called playoff boast (how has that worked out?)
In ROR two games......against Habs and Hawks. Leafs have one win and lose. Wow. Yep let's extend him.
Fair enough. Anderson and McMann are similar, but at 26 yrs old, I just cant see Mcmann becoming a solid NHLer. But not to say that mone of those guys couldn;t be a 4th liner, with quality linemates, but IMO what has sunk the leafs over the past 3-4 years has been the lack of quality depth.
Woll is the best Leaf prospect in goal, I just don;t really see him as a NHLer, even as a backup.
Its hard to write off guys like Woll, Robertson, SDA but its plain foolish to think that what we've seen so far is a mirage, that somehow they will become something they haven;t been yet. Its kind of a willfull Groundhog Day and constantly suprised that these guys haven;t provided what the team needs.
We've seen really no rookie/young forwards play key parts in the Leafs top 9 for more than a few years, and the constant demotions/shuffling/vet additions does nothing to assuage the idea that they haven;t found one yet, so the idea that SEVEN or EIGHT guys all of a sudden become good enough if plain lunacy.
