The 2nd line...the Hawks best line...took a major hit here. BUT, Every other line on this team is better than it was starting last season. Panik is a real 1RW player. Pacioretty is clearly better than Schmaltz. They have young, tough, quick (beside Hossa) 3rd and 4th lines. Debrincat can learn on the job because Hossa's a possession beast even @ 38 years old!

Why would MTL do this? They lose Pac who is their captain, but he really hasn't played as well as Panarin the last two years. They also get a big physical center. Both Russian so maybe Radulov comes back slightly cheaper to make this happen. They also get to drop Shaw who simply did pan out in MTL last year. He can certainly come back around, but maybe to don't want to waste their time.
