Larkin won't move without an extension in place, That's already come out from both him and his agent. So if tons of teams want him with an extension in place. many teams would beat that offer.

Newhook and the 1st are good starters, but with Maatta re-upping we don't need Girard and he's smaller than what Yzerman likes anyways. So Detroit passes.

It could be done but the bottom 6 would be gutted and it likely means losing Toews as well the next year. '24 1st is the best offer I'd do for Rico 50% retained, maybe with a lesser prospect thrown in. I wouldn't do Girard, the '23 1st or Newhook straight up for Rico so no chance on 2 of them lol.

I'd probably consider that for Schenn IF EJ is done for the year. Otherwise that's a lot for a 7/8D. I still think Larkin re-signs in Detroit but you are right....it would certainly be fun!
