Yeah, you could be right. But is it only me, or doesn't the LHD need to be upgraded? A mobile young D that's gonna take over after Markov. I'm thinking one of Fowler/Lindholm, Brodin or OEL along with a #1C would likely put the team in a serious contending mode.

I would think that California boy Thornton would be much more interested in signing with Vegas as UFA (if offered a contract) than Montreal.

That's certainly possible, and Vegas might want to make a splash. It's just as possible that Thornton looks down at those empty fingers and wonders why 18 years hasn't produced a ring. Of all the teams hunting for a big C this summer, the Habs probably have the best chance at taking a serious run at the cup next season.
