Description
GMBG will need to make a good amount of moves in the offseason to make the team better and working the cap so this might seem WILD but it is needed for the Wild.
+ Dumba is moved to WSH at TDL 22/23 for needed depth
+ Wild move Hartman for much needed '23 1st round pick
+ Zucker takes a "hometown" deal with the Wild as his family will not leave MN (this is known) and he said he wanted to return to the Wild
+ moving away from the GREEF line as more balanced offensive attack is needed
+ Rossi will need to be in the lineup next year and give him a chance between two highly skilled guys
+ Faber signs and immediately steps into a top 4 role as he projects to be a better defender than Addison
+ Schenn resigns to help stabilize that RD side with two rookies/prospects
+ Dealing Foligno will be a stretch as he is beloved in the locker room - BUF would be another potential destination
+ If dealing a prospect is off the table in the Boeser deal then Addison can be swapped in for O'Rourke and the Wild can find another vet to take his place (could save $1M to give to Zucker if $4M is needed, but that would be risky due to his amount of injuries)

I feel like he would be a great addition on the 3rd line next year with Coyle and either Hall or Debrusk. Marcus plays BOS style hockey and his brother is there. Nick is better suited for anchoring the 4th line.

Value is fine but Boston can’t take the cap hit for next year.

Doubt anyone is getting in line to pay a 1st for Hartman. He had the 1 standout year led by a unusually high shooting % but has since dropped back to expected form this season. If he was a top 6 winger for the Leafs, he'd still be the position people are looking to upgrade on.

Debrusk is first line, Frederic is third line with coyle and hall and i don’t see that changing.

Foligno makes it way harder to extend pastrnak.

I’ve seen, read and/or heard many different fans from other teams okay parting with a 1st for Hartman. He could easily slide into Bunting (can’t resign) or Jarnkrok (better on L3) spot in the top 6. The reason he has played on L3 this year is because the Wild were trying to balance a top 9 scoring attack with the loss of Fiala. Hartman just got moved up to L1 to boost their scoring as they’ve been slumping.

As a reason for a 1st, similar to Hagel, a guy that can score 20/30 on less than a $2M cap hit. The low cap hit drives the price up. If he was a $3/$4M cap hit we’re not talking about a first but in the cap world it matter. Kubalik is another player that might get a first that you might not think so.

That's great but you didn't look at the point. Hartman is a middle 6 winger rather than a top 6. Whether he's an upgrade on Jarnkrok in that 2nd line LW spot is very questionable, Jarnkrok is as good a goal scorer historically. Their overall stats are near identical. But even if Hartman is an upgrade, the difference is so slight that why would Toronto pay a 1st for it? They are looking for a real upgrade, not just another Jarnkrok.

Why would anyone count on Hartman to score 20/30? He's scored more than 20 goals once in his career when he was shooting 5% above his career average. This is just another case of a player having 1 unusually good season compared to his career averages and fans thinking he is that player even though he has since regressed to career norms.

Comparing him to Hagel is just laughable because Hagel is so young that he came with 4-5 years of team control as well as good chance of further player development. If he's your comparable for why Hartman should get a 1st, its obvious he shouldn't. Kubalik averages 25 goals a season across his career (assuming 82 game seasons), Hartman averages 16. That's why he isn't someone teams are going to count on for 20/30 goals scored when they would Kubalik.
