As a Canucks fan. Yes take that every day all day.

Essentially that's going to be 30th, 31st, or 32nd.

The belief is that the first is to take on the Mike Reilly contract because even buried it still costs 2mil

Still no happening, they’re better off throwing him in a Chyc trade which is also rumoured

No it isn’t.

I could run out and tweet - Elias Pettersson to boston for craig smith and a 5th. Doesn’t make it a rumor.

1. Not quite
2. They’re still complaint.
3. Buyout is 300K next year.
4. No, this isn’t a rumor.

Sure, and I question every rumor as well, but at least this one has some semblence of being realistic... a 28th to 32nd OA pick and a cap dump for Schenn.... how far off is that really?

NYR spent 2 seconds to dump 2.5m to Yotes in Nemeth deal. I don’t see Boston having enough assets to acquire Chyc near the asking price while also dumping a 3m aav Reilly. This proposed trade for Schenn makes a lot of sense from Boston’s end.

Schenn would be our 6/7th defensemen. no matter how the values equal out, we can’t give up firsts when we have a terrible system for that kind of depth.

Methinks you undervalue what Schenn brings to a team. The Bruins are THE team that could be desperate enough for that solid 3rd pair D like Schenn. Clifton can take a seat if Schenn is coming in.

Nah bud. Schenn sits behind clifton.

No team is desperate enough to trade a first for a guy that’s their 7th D.

Not sure if you’ve seen the standings lately - bruins aren’t exactly desperate.

Dang, it's probably too late for you to see this, but whatever ... the standings don't mean crap. Tell me Boston thinks their position in the standings means they shouldn't load up for a cup run while they actually have Bergeron and Krejci playing their best, and actually still playing.

The Avalanche didn't care about the standings when they acquired their pieces last season. A good RD prospect and a 2nd rounder for at the time UFA Josh Manson... decent comparable if you consider a late 1st (again, 28th-32nd, basically a high 2nd rounder in terms of value) and a cap dump for UFA Schenn.. Schenn is not the 7th D you think he is. He might be on a struggling Canucks team but he's still a bright spot, which makes him a stand-out. He's more than peanuts. But time will tell.

And I'll disagree about Clifton. The 5'11 175lb Clifton, when you already have Grzelcyk and McAvoy as small-ish guys on your blueline, can take a seat in order to have a 3rd pair playoff pairing of Derek Forbort and Luke Schenn to rough up Toronto or Tampa's top guys in round 2, and whoever follows that may be a real threat to them.

Yaaa so this is a good indicator that you haven’t seen teh guy play. First off, you’re taking his college numbers. Hockeydb has him at 190 and i think the bruins website has him at 200. Either way, he plays big. Real big. Since you don’t know who the guy is, I’m not sure it’s worth discussing whether or not schenn plays over him, but no. He definitely doesn’t.

I’m not going to tell you that…it’s not what i said. I said they’re not desperate. Of course they’re not desperate, again, look at the standings. Colorado had legitimate holes in their lineup that they need to fill, and they did that. Boston doesn’t really have those holes. What they need is depth, and injury insurance. Guys like schenn would be good. Bjugstad or acciari would be good. But there are plenty of players like that available - so no, they’re not desperate.
