If all the recent indications from Bob Stauffer are true, maybe Holland is finally willing to part with the 1st round pick to make this team better, we should have been in win now since McDavid entered the league, but hopefully Holland wakes up.
I say aggressive, but only make 2 trades that are substantial in the grand scheme of things. First off, Chychurn & Bjugstad come over from the Yotes in a massive deal. The price for Chychurn is rumoured to be around 2 firsts + a 2nd. You get that in Broberg + 1st + 2nd. In addition, to give EDM the edge over other teams, they also get Puljujarvi, Foegele & Tullio. I understand Bjugstad is part of this deal too. Tullio is a low-tier B level prospect who probably won't be better than a top 9 guy. (Hyman lite for those looking for scouting notes), he has a connection with former Oiler Zack Kassian as well and is not a bad prospect to add to an ever expanding list. Foegele & Puljujarvi go back for salary reasonings but certainly don't have negative value. Foegele just came off of a 2 goal game as well. Puljujarvi however has come off of a struggling season and seemingly lost his confidence. It's time for EDM to let go and allow him a change of scenery. Arizona is a well ran team and will recognize the value Puljujarvi can bring to the table. Chychurn helps a struggling Oiler defense, cap-controlled, puck-moving LD to take minutes away from Darnell Nurse. Bjugstad is a big physical right shot center who's had a bounce back offensive production.
Next up is Gustav Nyquist. Columbus can and would likely get better offers than this, but I'm basing this off the EDM/OTT trade for Tyler Ennis a few deadlines ago. Ennis, like Nyquist, isn't quite known for his two-way ability, more so of a shifty, middle 6 scoring winger. Ennis at the deadline of the 19/20 season had 33 points in 61 games. Gustav Nyquist has 22 in 48 AND is injured. Stop me if you've heard this before, but former Holland draft pick ONCE AGAIN. Nyquist can ride the LTIR until playoffs where he'll be healthy (expected to be healthy BEFORE playoffs) and not rushed back into action. And then you have a middle 6 scoring option ready for round 1 and beyond
As for lines, I think you run 11/7 with Desharnais until the wheels fall off. Derek Ryan becomes odd man out on the bench, Devin Shore gets pigeon tossed all the way back to Bakersfield.
