He isn't an overpaid 4th liner, he's an overpaid 3rd liner...we can easily retain but that would require a 3rd round pick instead imo. But i guess I was wrong about the NYR fit, my B.

That's a very fair deal for Meier, maybe even slightly too much.

I disagree on the Mantha part, hes still very good...I just don't think he fits on a team with Laviolette as coach. He definitely still has value and next year at the deadline, you can definitely move him for more draft picks.

But I definitely think New Jersey can give a better package, especially if they are willing to give up Holtz.

Agreed, I really feel like this is a slight overpay. Realistically, Gibson isn't going to be a part of the deal, so it's:

A top prospect center - Lapierre
A highly touted RHD prospect - Chesley
An overpaid Middle 6/Top 9 forward who desperately needs to be moved - Mantha
A mid first round pick in a very deep draft

Yeah, I just offered what the Sharks were reportedly interested in. Which is 2 B prospects, and a first round pick. I added Mantha to maybe outbid other teams who are also looking at Meier (and they could easily flip him for more picks next year). I only threw Gibson in because I doubt he signs with us tbh
