Description

1. soucy may be in play because the kraken's negotiations with him have stalled. it probably follows that the leafs won't be able to re-sign him then.
2. kraken may keep him as their own rental for the playoffs, it would probably demoralize the team to trade a top 6 defender for future assets given the success they've had.

I agree with you statement about Kraken keeping Soucy regardless of contract negotiations. But if traded you want think Seattle would get more, and certainly Bjustad would get more for Arizona.
Kerfoot really shouldn't be traded with the Leafs minimal NHL depth at centre. IMO I don't like that Crouse trade. Leafs need the cap for next year, and trading Knies and 1st (the Leafs have few prospects seems to long term a bad decision.
