Is there a report from a trusted source that says he won't waive? If not, then this idea is fine. Vegas may want an additional draft pick, but that's a minor thing.

I havent seen any official reports one way or another just speculation.

when it comes to PIT dealing with VGK, vegas is holing all the cards. they will be giving no draft picks, and they will not be taking bad contracts unless draft picks come back. VGK don't need Fleury's salary to be retained (they are going to be trying to reach the cap floor) Vegas will want Fleury, but he has no value.

On the other hand Fleury has huge value to other NHL teams not named the Golden Knights, since other teams will be trying to steal him from vegas. If I was PIT GM, I would go that route.

You kind of contradicted yourself there saying Vegas held all the cards then other teams would want fleury away from Vegas....And in my opinion the hagelin contract isnt bad. its just not good for Pits scenario. He is a great PK guy and one of the fastest guys in the league 4 Mil is a little high but he only have 1 or 2 years left on that deal. This trade gives Vegas 2 pieces they will need moving forward for their special teams and hitting the cap floor. I also added the cap retained for fleury to appease the people that are saying he will be bought out and the retained is similar to his buy out hit. And pit only gets back a 5th round pick in a weak draft.

I wrote that Vegas holds all the cards when trying to deal with PIT with regards to Fleury, not other teams going after fleury..... PIT have no leverage against Vegas for Fleury
