I think Gudas is a physical, defensive oriented type guy
But idk that he does a great job as a “shut down” player
He’s only a +3, whole other defensemen on his team (Forsling & Mahura) are in the teens on the + side

As a Sabres fan, I’d prefer we look towards someone like Murphy from Chicago, or maybe Savard from MTL

Forsling plays with Ekblad and Mahura plays fewer minutes than Gudas. Likely lighter minutes.

If the Sabres are gonna try & bring in a legit partner for Power,
they should aim higher imo

It's not a bad idea, like what he brings. But we need a 2RD that can eat 22-23min a night with Power and don't think Gudas can handle that, he Averages 15-17min a night.

Based on what is available and cost of acquisition then I’d have a go. They need help on RD to get them into the playoffs. Simple. Not sure who else you will get without paying a mint to get.

Think there's a couple out there that might be had that fit what we need without paying a ransom. Adams missed a couple already that would have cost a bag of pucks in Timmins and Bear

Either we should pay up for a guy like Murphy, Savard, etc
or probably not bother & wait for the draft
