Olofsson was a trash 5v5 player with a top 10 center in the league and a top 30 winger... you make this point about bad linemates but ignore its the same situation for Mittlestadt.

And this post has them getting a top 4 dman and Olofsson more than recouped the value lol

Mittlestadt is the bad linemate there is no reverse, he's the problem. Olofsson was bad 5v5 when he was a rookie, so that needs to be held against him for the rest of his career apparently
    McCabe isn't a top 4 Dman and I'm a McCabe fan

    Same. Olofsson

I'm not rushing to get rid of him. As said in the description this was just for fun, so i didnt put too much thought into the trade values. If they went out and got Foligno (or comparable gritty bottom 6 guy) - I'd be close to happy with this value for Olofsson since they'd have to move a body out.

Really wanted them to go after Crouse last TDL and offseason before he signed.

They have both been bad for long stretches this year, if either one can be used for a upgrade or a piece for a upgrade there should be no hesitation to do so. Sabres have plenty of talented Wingers coming up.

This isn't a conversation. It's you stating everything as fact. I'm sorry for questioning those absolute facts that you posted on my post. "There is no reverse. He's the problem." after all

When Mitts is playing well he carries his line, he just hasn't been able to put it together for long stretches.

Mitts has also been playing his entire career with no one to work with. In 1-2 years if he's still just a solid 2nd unit PP guy and infuriatingly inconsistent 5v5 the choice to open up a spot for Savoie is pretty damn easy.

    How that any different than

Mitts has not carried a line in the NHL yet. Hes really really bad. The pace hits a brick wall everytime he touches the puck. The choice is very easy, Mitts needs to go. Especially as this is not a throw away year and they're in a good spot to make the wild card race at least interesting.

Mitts leads the team with 8 points in the past 12GP 5v5.

Via NHL.com, I've got Tuch atop the Sabres with 9 ev points (3+6) followed by Tage (5+3) and Mitts (1+7)

No biggie, nice to see Mitts contributing 5v5 and if he could ever get it in his head that perimeter play can only take you so far, he'd end up contributing even more.

Edit: nice avatar. All Hail Taro Tsujimoto! (Punch was awesome)

12 games is a weird point to set. Probably because 6 of those 8 points came from 3 games so you had to go back to the Pittsburgh game. Also those 2 goals in Detroit were luck, as everyone noted at the time. Those 3 games (6 points) also account for the majority of his 5v5 points on the year. If Olofsson's biggest knock is that he is streaky, we can't then say Mittlestadt is better because of his performance in 3 games out of 39

He didn't say anything about Olofsson nor did he reply to something about Olofsson. Take a breath. Mittlestadt is allowed to play well sometimes, wish it was more, but he does do it sometimes

I'm just illustrating that he is not "really, really bad". Granato doesn't think so. Adams doesn't think so. Mitts' teammates don't think so.

I know you're dug in on your opinion.

Mitts is still developing. That shouldn't be hard to understand.

Even looking at those numbers that's not a good case, but then when you go to the eye test, he is, in fact really really bad. He's developing into a top tier center for the German league

I mean, yeah, that's why I am watching again. Just watched Mitts take a holding penalty in the offensive zone at the end of a PP that immediately turned into a game tying goal. He's so good, can't believe I missed it
