Gms dont do it often because they dont usually get hilariously good offers like this because even the gms dumb enough to trade a guy like nylander for so little are smart enough to call a 2nd team and get more.

This is a trade that the rangers jump on without blinking and anyone pretending otherwise is either a massive rangers homer, trying to save face for a dumb statement like the rangers are too dumb to find 1.5 in cap space or they are just trolling
Pick your poison, bro

This isn’t a trade. You and I both know this. I’m not sure why you’re still attempting to troll. Leafs don’t do this but NYR can’t. The same way Leafs Can’t afford him. This offer never happens from any GM.. it happens from a leafs fan. No GM would ever offer this, ever. I can’t believe you are even arguing. Absolute clown move

ah i love it when they play this game. Just keep spouting the same stuff over and over and over ignoring that you've literally been proven wrong at every turn. It's a good thing for you that the leafs arnt stupid enough to do such a terrible trade because the rangers would make you look real foolish with how much extra they'd add to get a shot at nylander

Enjoy fantasyland.

Yeah.. trading away what we need for someone we will have to flip for what we gave away… GMs do this often? I’ve never seen it. Maybe you can point out when in history it’s happened. Common sense tells me that it’s never happened but you seem to think you’re them most sensible on this site. Please share examples. Also if the leafs could get double this offer, then it makes this post even more ridiculous. So trading to a team without cap, a direct competitor in the east and for a fraction of the loot he would fetch. -3 thoughts went into this post and while you’re attempting to troll me you’re only adding to the embarrassment of the leaf post. Tell your friends to start trading Nylander to ARZ/CHI who have cap space, aren’t seeing playoffs anytime soon and who have loads of high 1sts to give.

You're wasting facts and logic and common sense on this troll.

Yes, this charade of turning down a trade your team wins cleanly is a clown move, just like acusing people of being a troll simply because you have zero actual way to prove your point.
The rangers could easily afford this trade and youd have to be simple to think otherwise

You really don’t know when to stop.. I don’t need to turn it down. It’s never happens for 3 major reasons(which I have already pointed out to you). Continuously trying to argue that the rangers need to say yes to this post is clown material at its best. Only a leaf fan makes this offer. Dubas and 31 other GMs don’t.

No duh dubas doesnt make this offer, ive literally said multiple times. The entire premise is that the trade is so bad for the leafs any other gm would jump all over it. And that includes the rangers

Look up the definition of moot. There 0 reason to debate this because only a silly leaf would propose this.

so do you go to every proposal on this board and say that? because there is zero reason to debate if only a silly fan of some team would propose that. Like, what are you going for here?

If a post is absurd then yes. If some attempt at making things like cap work, position needs, value, etc. I’ll suggest +/- or some other option or some posts I don’t see. I also tell NYR fans when they are off base.

I think the biggest problems with this trade are:

It’s an excessive loss in value for the leafs in that they are dumping a top line caliber player without recouping enough value back. They also end up with 3 million in cap space anyways, so the “real” savings is only about 2 million dollars. There are better ways to carve out that cap without dumping Nylnder

For New York, they’re just as tight against the cap as Toronto. After completing this trade, they would then have to make a cap dump elsewhere (and lose value on it) to make this trade work. Even if this trade has a big benefits, giving up kaakko, and 2nd, and then making a sizeable cap dump in order to have one year of nylander would be horrible asset management

Pure common sense, something that escapes a different poster in this thread.
