Why on earth would TO move Rielly for a rental and a truly awful player in Boeser and a 32 year old 7/8 defenceman? They lose the best player and the 3rd best player and 2 3rds. For a 3C they won't resign.

Because the leafs are buzzing rn without him. Why not add to the offensive power by rolling the best top 9 in the league and adding some cheaper depth guys on d to slightly improve on what we have now?

They have already mentioned that they are looking to shop Horvat, Boeser is an upgrade from Kerfoot. And Vancouver gets a legit defenceman who is locked up for the long term and has a good price tag.

ROR gives them the best top 9 in the league. Horvat is fine but he doesn't really fit the identity TO has. They are a super strong defensive team and everyone has bought into that identity. Horvat isn't very good defensively, he has a reputation among Canuck fans as being good defensively but there is zero supporting to prove that. On the contrary, his advance stats point to him being well below average defensively. ROR on the other hand has been a Selke candidate for years. He fits Horvat doesn't. I think this year Dubas adds guys who enhance the defensive play and offensive. He won't add someone who adds offence at the cost of defence

It's definitely not the player they would want but I wager they would accept it since it's such a slam dunk win. Unloading Boeser is a must for them.

The problem is they already have two high paid LD who aren't great in their own end Rielly just is not a good fit for them imo......I get why they would move the pieces you ask for I am just not sure Rielly is who they want in return with Hughes and OEL(Obv Morgan is a ton better then OEL but they still gotta manage his cap hit somehow)

Boeser is not an upgrade over Kerfoot. He isn't even an upgrade offensively right now and is absolutely devoid of any defensive ability. On top of that even with 2 million retained he costs more than Kerfoot. This is all around awful

I true, ROR is a great option and I'd love him on the leafs I also think he'd be a great fit

You can take out boeser if you'd like, the main thing was to get horvat,

You can get him without moving Rielly which is a terrible idea. He's the best defenceman we have. He's also one of the best people in the game and a real leader in TO. We'd be playing even better if he was in the lineup.

But he was in the lineup and we weren't. I love Rielly and don't want him gone but we've been playing so great without him. Why not upgrade the bottom 6 or play him top 6 and add a guy like soucy on the back end?

Canucks need to get rid of Boeser and Rielly is quite the addition, he is a great player with term.

An offensive d man who plays the same game as Hughes. Can’t have them both on PP1. Can’t have them both on the top pair. We need defensive d men more than anything

LOL First off Rielly doesn't waive his NMC for Vancouver, Kerfoot is a UFA of no value to Vancouver and 2 3rd round picks. You're simply not getting either Horvat or Boeser with retention for basically garbage. Outside of Rielly who doesn't waive it's pure trash.

So going into next year, the Leafs don't have 7.5m Reilly but are saddled with a third line Boesner at 4.5m....no thanks

Why the hate for Holl? Leafs keep him and their picks.

Rielly is from Vancouver...I'm sure he'd be willing to move back to his hometown. Also, it should be vancouvers goal to get boeser off their team with that gross cap hit. Vancouver is winning this trade

Who cares if Rielly is from Vancouver, They're heading for a rebuild. And the very last thing Vancouver needs is another high priced LD long term especially one getting up there in age.

And no Vancouver doesn't win this, Once again Rielly doesn't waive. Kerfoot a pending UFA won't get more than a 3rd back plus 2 3rds that are basically worthless as less than 40% of all 3rd round picks even make it to the NHL. Allvin/Rutherford would laugh at this offer and block Kyle Dubas number.

Rielly cares if he's from vancouver, your whole argument is that rielly wont want to go and you'll lose the trade... so point proven. And do you know how no movment clauses work?? If he doesn't waive the trade doesn't happen. This is the best offer you'll get for bo horvat... which is also getting ride of that high boeser contract

First off Vancouver needs RD help not an expensive LD in Rielly so Vancouver passes. And if you honestly think this is the best offer that Vancouver will get for Bo Horvat. Then you obviously don't know that much about value.

Rielly plays the right side so that problem is solved, and a one-for-one trade between Rielly and bo Horvat, taking in cap hit and term, Rielly is more valuable. This is the first time in bo's career that he is on pace for a point per game

If Rielly wanted to go home to Vancouver, then he would've signed with them. Not just sign a new 8 year deal with Toronto. And Rielly is listed as solely a LD on here not both.

If you watched hockey games you'd realize the players can play their off positions listed on Cap friendly.
