No to Kassian. He already came to Montreal and the Tree he assaulted will never be the same.

Don't see Dallas spending a 1st on Monahan. REALLY don't see them spending a 1st on Monahan when you attach Dadonov to the deal.

I am thinking that deal simply misses the mark..... Barrie and a mid round pick for Edmundson is ballpark. Poolparty's value is almost zero right now as he is hinting at going back.to Europe.

Kassian is a different person since his first go around in a Habs jersey. Frankly, this deal makes sense. Hughes gets out of a bad contract a year early, Yotes get picks and an extra year of Armia, who is similar.to Kassian.

That New Jersey deal is a beautiful example of how the Habs can weaponize cap space at the deadline. It works, and it is something the Devils may entertain......

The Dallas deal has some merit as well. I beleive asking for a 1st there maybe too much, but again, weaponizing cap space. Monahan has found a way to.postive value, Dadanov has not. Think that 1st should be a 2nd...... Dadanov just doesn't have the value over Gurianov.

Overall...... may not be a Habs fan, but the way this ACGM works the cap is brilliant. Does it happen? Maybe not. But this is one of the best thought processes involving the Habs I have seen in months.

Don't get me wrong. I'm sure Kassian IS a different person, but I think ownership would not like another "reclamation project" on the books. We already have Price & Drouin who are on the books who were recently in player assistance and the Molson family is involved in beer and probably cannabis (not sure but many folks in MTL who have money are). We also have to get the league to agree to appeal the status of Logan Mailloux. We have enough "players under league scrutiny" under team control already. I think it's just not a good fit for those reasons. Respect to Kassian, but let him go play somewhere else.

I mean I wouldnt want Kassian, Its just that he would fit pretty good according to his contract! Armia and him are being paid about the same and Armia is the better player! We would give a little more for the extra year of Armia. In therm of cap flexibility, I would do this deal, but I understand that Kassian is Kassian lol

Fair commentary.

Simply looking at the construct, this really does work getting the Habs some positive assets. If it isn't Kassian, it could be someone else.....

Yeah. Kid looks like he'll figure it out eventually. Curious, any idea why the production has not been there at the AHL this year? He had such a hot couple of games last year, this year is a bit of a letdown?
