Kerfoot and Holl are cap dumps, Take far more than Robertson+Niemela+Late 1st round pick to get Bo Horvat out of Vancouver. Basically any 7-8 other teams that have interest in Horvat blow that offer away.

Major overpay for Horvat:
1/ he’s a rental
2/ every team interested would offer late 1st rounder, that’s how the league works
3/ Robertson & Niemela are 2 of our top 5 prospects
4/ Kerfoot aded to make $ balance, i’m assuming - he’s far from a cap dump
5/ prefer Holl to Schenn any day so just delete them from package


Leafs would be crazy to offer this for Horvat, who’d be 3C and on 2PP. There’s no precedent for this type of return for a player like Horvat. If a team wants to out bid this, feel free - smh

Just wanted to point out that the fact that Niemela and Robertson are 2 of the Leafs top 5 prospects, doesn't automatically make them trade pieces of great value.

That’s fair; of course teams determine which package is the most attractive incl potential of incoming prospects . No team can easily ship out 2 of their top 5 prospects and Leafs prospect pool is rated between 10-15, well ahead of Canucks.

If you hadn't noticed, the Leafs are missing their top top minute eating Dmen on the left side, Reilly and Muzzin. So that's increased the minutes for Giordano and Sandin and Mete.
Please the only RHD with a good maybe very good season is Hrovak. Certainly the others have been fine and due to their age will be get better. But to say Holl hasn't been playing well is just an unknowledgeable statement.

Leafs with Holl playing 24+ minutes are 3rd in league, xGA per 60. Wings are 14th but your dmen are better

So I think this is what it would take to get a 27 yr old C who can score, penalty kill and be the best 3rd line C in the league. It is a lot to give up and the leafs would need to think that they could resign him if they went this route. I think the biggest need is a proper 3rd line C for this team. I like Schenn more than Holl b/c he provides more hitting, grit and toughness.

So Kerfoot and Holl replace the slots for Horvat and Schenn this year and are UFAS. Van might want to resign them if they play well (Kerf is from VAN). They make the money cap balance for the deal. Essentially, the deal is a 1st, top LW prospect, top Right handed D prospect for a rental and a 33 yr old D man. This deal is more than fair value.

Leafs can’t resign him, not without making major sacrifices elsewhere so he’d be a true rental.
We have PP1 & PK1 covered - not areas of need.
Horvat is good but price you show is too high and I seriously doubt Canucks will get that, but time will tell.
To each his own, but Holl > Schenn imo so no interest in that trade.

well a player of horvat's calibre is rarely available, hes one of the best 2C's in the league, and would be a 1C on half the teams in the league, So we have the leverage and also there will be a bidding war on him

Unless he wants to test free agency, The odds of him being a rental are pretty slim.
