Description
I am new to make Armchair GMs and always love receiving constructive criticisms so I can make these Armchair GMs more realistic in the future!!

This Armchair GM is a 2.0 because of constructive feedback in the 1st match made me realize that some changes needed to be made specifically when dealing with the Wilson trade!

Now this is some win now moves if I've ever seen one.
Trading your entire future for a year and a half of Wilson plus Nick Jensen. And JT ofc.
If the Leafs don't win the cup, with this roster, this season or the next though, they'll be in an pretty awkward spot smile

Yep, the Leafs are better this year. Severe overpay for Wilson as Jensen and Holl are equal. Destroyed Leafs future. Millers's cap goes to 8m next year, on his horrendous long term contract.

It’s a very bad trade but Jensen and Holl are not even close to equal.

You did use the feedback.

But now the Wilson/Jensen deal is far too complicated.

Wilson can play and he has term. Bottom line is you can't throw a bunch of names and think it gets done.

Neimela is a couple years away. So is Voit. Although both look really good, there is too much runway there for the Caps to say ok.

A case where simpler is better, so I stick with Knies, Neimela and a 1st.

It just looks overly complicated.

so were givin 2 1st 3/5 of our top prospects for tom wilson and a slight upgrade on D that we dpnt need then were gonna ruin our cap for the future so we cant resign am and willy and pay that much for it?? yeah no thanks

As others have said in ACGM trades simpler is always better.

Honestly think the value for the Caps trade (in an NHL23 franchise mode way) is pretty close if a little skewed towards the Caps, but teams just never give up so much of their future for multiple huge names. TOR would (rightly) never want to give up what it would take for both Wilson and Jensen.

IMO a Wilson to TOR trade would look something like Wilson for Kerfoot + 23 1st + 24 1st. Selling teams always prefer picks to prospects, Kerfoot makes the cap work enough for this year, and TOR gets to keep their guys that they drafted like Niemela and Voit who should help a contending team sooner than picks. A Jensen one would be even more straightforward -- something like Jensen 50% retained for whichever bottom 6 forward you dislike most to balance cap + 24 1st.
