What ##### the Ducks is the injury. His value diminished greatly due to it, but even more so due to his date of return.

So, he still has top-4 potential. A lot of these teams: Colorado, Toronto, Buffalo, are not in win now mode, so they'd be more the willing to wait for Vatanen's health to restore.

As a leaf fan I don't see that being enough in return to the ducks

Only ones ducks would do are Tampa and NYR. Why not just protect him in the expansion and trade Fowler if the injury apparently lowers his value to receiving trash 4th liners and middling picks for a top-4 defenseman, PP QB, and penalty killer...
