I've been pretty critical of both this and last mgmt group and while I doubt these are the moves we see, I do expect that these are the types of deals that happen.

St. Louis trade:
Blues who also have struggled are not going to rebuild despite having some interesting expiring UFA's in RoR and Tarasenko. Miller adds offense and could possibly replace RoR's minutes at C but more likely that is filled by Thomas and Miller would replace Tarasenko's points. Myers while a downgrade on Parayko does replace most of those minutes in the short and adds additional offense. Hoglander and 1st offset the value between Parayko and Myers and some of the uncertainty of Miller's contract.

Canucks add potentially the perfect partner for Hughes and a good character, physical top 6 forward in Schenn. While they lose offense and the 1st round pick stings, they also clear some cap to sign Horvat and Kuzmenko.

New York Islanders trade:
Isles are rumoured to be searching for a goal scorer and while Boeser's stock has dropped somewhat since his explosive rookie season a lot of that is driven by this Markets perception rather than the statistics. Boeser remains a quality top 6 winger who has developed a solid two way game. I think his goal scoring could likely return to the 30+ if he regained a primary triggerman role on the PP. Lazar adds some C/W depth to help replace Pageau.

Pageau is a popular and important player but the Isles do have some other options for 3C including Cizikas, Beauvillier or Lazar. He would give the Canucks a very good 3C who can PK, win draws and provide a bit of secondary scoring. While 5M is an expensive 3C for the next 4 years it lines up with Demko's contract and likely window to compete with this core.
